I love Pinterest (maybe a little too much)! It speaks to all parts of my soul--crafter, librarian, educator, and neat freak. When I first started my library pinterest account, I had a few boards but quickly realized that wasn't going to work out. By adding more boards, I was able to organize pins into logical categories based on my needs for units, seasons, types of learners, etc. Now that I have this organization set up, it makes it much easier to find exactly what I'm looking for or get an idea for a new lesson or unit based if I browse what I pinned earlier.
My goal for myself is to start adding some of the things I have done in my library to share with others. I am not sure what this would look like, whether I'm just adding photos and a description or if I should blog about these things I've done and link the pin to the blog post. Furthermore, would it make more sense to add these items to boards I've already create, or should I create a new board of the pins that I upload? For example:
As I'm writing this, I realized I should include my description in a linked blog, otherwise people who are repinning can reword the comment and my original message would essentially be lost.
I'm also curious about promoting my pinterest page to get more followers. I have spent a considerable amount of time searching for and organizing pins and resources, and I want to be able to share my efforts with a larger audience. After reading this article, I have a few more ideas about how to do that, mostly revolving around connecting social media platforms and actively commenting on others' pins instead of just repinning them.
